Global Citizenship

It is about valuing the Earth as precious and unique, and safeguarding the future for those coming after us. Global Citizenship is a way of thinking and behaving. What qualities does a Global Citizen possess?
  • an ability to conceive of problems in global as well as local terms
  • an ability to work cooperatively with others and to take responsibility
  • an ability to understand, appreciate, and tolerate cultural differences
  • an ability to be sensitive towards and to defend human rights
  • an ability to think in a critical and systematic way
  • a willingness to participate in local, national and international politics
  • a willingness to change one’s lifestyle to protect the environment
  • a willingness to resolve conflict in a non-violent manner (Parker, Ninomiya, Cogan)
