This exciting programme will take participants to three very different, yet equally important Chinese cities: Booming Shanghai, ancient Xi’an and powerful Beijing. Travel between these cities can happen by rail, or air.

This programme was planned with the objective of familiarising participants with life in contemporary China, while also providing opportunities for them to delve into the country’s extraordinary past. Additionally, certain activities — notably a school exchange activity — will positively challenge students in a variety of personal development areas.

By the end of the programme students will have had meaningful interactions with local residents and enjoyed cultural workshops conducted in some of China’s most iconic settings. It is hoped that through these experiences all will feel that they have truly ‘tasted’ China. Of course, practising Mandarin through the course of the programme should help with this. That effort itself should be an excellent learning experience and a rewarding challenge.
